“My Name is Kari…”

If you’re here, it’s because there is a story to read that will impact you. It’s one woman’s experience of living with Type 1 Diabetes, which she documented with tender honesty. With deep sincerity, humour, and bravery, Kari recounts her journey with the disease from her initial diagnosis at the age of 17, through years of managing and mismanaging her illness, and a double organ transplant. Kari passed away in 2021, but she has shared her story here for those who have been touched by this illness and who can learn from the highs and lows she experienced on so many levels. It is with love that we remember Kari, and value all we have learned from the life she shared with us.
